CNC Router is widely used in the wood industry, stone industry, advertising industry, manufacturing industry and other industries. Currently, the market is dominated by three-axis CNC Router. Multi-axis CNC Router is usually used for high-end products, high prices and high repair and maintenance cost of machine is the main bottleneck, which have restricted the application of multi-axis CNC Router.
For the market demand of five-axis CNC Router, this project presents an economical five-axis CNC Router design. With the software running on the PC, NC code will be converted into each axis output pulses, the output pulse signal through the computer parallel port is sent to the stepper motor driver to control the stepper motor movement, to achieve the movement of each axis and finish processing.
Firstly, the paper describes the overall design program of five-axis CNC Router, including CNC system software design, machine hardware design and machine structure design. Secondly, it discusses the numerical interpolation theory and method, and establishes a five-axis linear interpolation algorithm based on time division method. In terms of CNC software design, the paper has done research in the CNC code compiler, software loop delay method, the parallel port reading and writing operation and other key technologies. In terms of hardware and interface design, the paper further explores in the principles of stepper motor working and driving, optical isolation circuit design and stepper drive design base on the TA8435 chip.
